MSM Dietary Supplement

MSM Dietary Supplement

MSM supplements are popular because they are able to provide more than one health benefit. MSM can be found existing naturally in more than a few plants and animals, and is found in small quantities in the human diet. However, taking MSM supplements will provide the body with a much higher quantity than can be achieved from a normal diet. The process of manufacturing MSM starts with the trees, which are used for making paper. The trees are then sent to pulp mills where they are stripped of the bark, and the remaining wood is then cut into smaller pieces known as wood chips. These wood chips are placed into what is known as a digester, which is basically a large pressure vessel.

This video clip discusses how MSM depletes from your body as you age. Low levels of sulfur can lead to many unnecessary sensations and issues in your body that can often be cured by adding MSM supplements to your diet. This super free radical scavenger can seek out and destroy toxic build up due to pollution in our blood which is then excreted by your body.

MSM Dietary Supplement – How Its Made

Once the wood chips have been placed in the digester, it will then undergo either a kraft process, or sulfite process. It is through the sulfite process that the sulfur in MSM supplements is obtained. In this process, chemicals are pumped into the digester containing the wood chips. This is done in order to extract the lignin that is contained in them. These pulping chemicals will consist of a mixture of ammonium sulfite, sodium, potassium, bisulfites, magnesium, calcium or sulfurous acid. Once the chemicals have been applied, the chips will be left for several hours, and during this time, they will break down into a thick mushy pulp. Then the pulp is squeezed out of the digester through a specially designed air lock. The change in the sudden pressure causes the fibers to expand, thus making them separate even further, leaving behind a watery solution that is known as brown stock. Through the use of countercurrent flow, the pulp washers will remove any leftover chemicals, as well as hemi-cellulose and degraded lignin. Once these have been removed, we are left with a liquid that is known as red or brown liquor.

A few more processes will be needed before the sulfur for MSM supplements is made available. The next step to obtaining MSM requires the brown liquor be concentrated through the use of multiple effective evaporators. Following this, the concentrated brown liquor is then burned in a device known as a recovery boiler in order for it to generate steam. One of the byproducts from this process are lignosulfonates. When the lignosulfonates are heated together with elemental sulfur or sulfite, it will produce what is known as dimethyl sulfide. The dimethyl sulfide is then subject to oxidation through the use of nitrogen dioxide, and produces what is known as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Finally, the DMSO is heated until it reaches its boiling point, at which time it vaporizes and absorbs extra oxygen, becoming DMSO2. When it cools down, it will solidify into crystals, which are known as Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM).

In order to achieve the purest possible form from the MSM, it must undergo a purification process to remove any existing impurities. This must be done carefully in order to make sure that the impurities do not evaporate and mix with MSM. Another method used in obtaining MSM from DMSO is through crystallization. However, this particular method can leave behind impure solvents. Before buying MSM supplements, it is important to consider the manufacturer that has developed the product. This is because some manufacturing facilities may not maintain the correct sanitation procedures, which could lead to contamination of MSM. Research has shown that the side effects experienced by certain MSM users was derived from a product of poor quality that contained contaminants such as heavy metals or other chlorinated hydrocarbons. Pure MSM has a low toxicity level, which is practically equivalent to that of water.

MSM Dietary Supplement – Know The Manufacturer Of Your MSM Supplement

It is equally important that the manufacturer follow strict process control procedures in order to make sure that the purity of the MSM is consistent. Unfortunately, there are some manufacturers who do not follow any kind of in-house process control, nor do they test their product once it is made. This is why great care should be taken when looking at the product selection in health stores. The individual should make sure that they read the product labels and look for those products that follow standards developed by the nutrition industry. Some of the standards that should be looked out for are the AOAC international or NIH sponsored products. This will make sure that the industry guidelines are followed by the manufacturers, which is to ensure that any of the raw materials that are to be used must meet industry guidelines, and after all these raw materials are used, the finished product must also meet these guidelines, thus ensuring that consistent quality can be found in these brands.

Once you have found a reputable manufacturer of MSM supplements, you will then be able to implement the supplements into your daily diet. There have been a few reported cases of side effects from a small group of individuals who were taking MSM. In most cases, these side effects will include minor headaches, diarrhea or insomnia. However, it has been found that most of the individuals who reported the side effects were found to be using a poor quality MSM, which had a lot of impurities as well as heavy metals. Equally important to note is that some of the properties of MSM such as its detoxifying capabilities may cause diarrhea. This is usually as a result of the body cleaning out any toxins that have been removed as a result of the MSM. These are not necessarily side effects but a normal reaction to the cleansing process, which in most cases will last for only a few days at the start of MSM consumption.

Because MSM is an organic sulfur, it is important that any individuals who are known to have allergic reactions to sulfur drugs should avoid using MSM in order to be on the safe side. It is also advisable that anyone seeking to start using MSM supplements seek medical advice on whether it is suitable for them. This is particularly important for pregnant women, women that are breast-feeding, and for those individuals who are taking other medications as a result of any kind of medical condition. It is extremely important that you always know as much as possible about the MSM Dietary Supplement you are taking.
